The Port of Valparaíso is managed by Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso (EPV), an entity created by Law No. 19,542, on December 19, 1997. In accordance with that law, EPV is a legal continuation of the Empresa Portuaria de Chile, with all its attributions, rights, obligations and assets, and was formally established on January 31, 1998.
Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso is responsible for the administration, utilization, development and conservation of the Port of Valparaíso, as well as all its assets, including all related activities within the port area necessary for the proper fulfillment of its duties.
The Port of Valparaíso has 5 standing concession contracts with important Chilean companies in order to enhance the port´s competitiveness in accordance with logistics, safety and technology, and all in harmony with the sustainable development of the city. Currently, the port accommodates two of the most important cargo terminals in Chile and contains the main cruise terminal for Chilean tourism.
EPV also manages the administration of an important public space in Valparaiso, the Prat Pier Promenade.

The Port and the city of Valparaíso are proud to host the 107th AAPA Annual Convention, the largest port event in the Americas, which gathers the major players and leaders of this industry, worldwide.
