The Port of Valparaiso has a solid and unique logistics model in Chile which enables it to efficiently manage its logistics chain. The model consists of three main areas: two leased terminals and the Logistics Support Extension Zone (ZEAL), which is connected to the terminals by a port-managed access road. It is also supported by a pioneering information system called SILOGPORT that was developed by the Port of Valparaiso’s engineers and that interconnects all the members of the port & logistics chain, including both private and public institutions. This logistics model allows the flow of cargo, paper documentation and information processes to be synchronized.
The Port of Valparaiso extends a warm invitation to all those attending the 107th AAPA Annual Convention to visit the Valparaiso Port System and learn about the importance of its Logistics Model in contributing to the overall efficiency of the Port System.
The technical visit - of approximately two hours in length-, includes a presentation about the Port of Valparaiso and visits to the terminals and the ZEAL.
